This is a video resume of our roadtrip in Namibia. Here you will see us inside the ghost buildings of Kolmanskop, riding horses, flying over the Namib desert, climbing the highest dunes in the world, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes… You will discover dreamy landscapes like Sossusvlei and its dead trees in a white clay pan, thousands of seals, two different tribes (Himba and San)… You will see why sunrises and sunsets in Africa are different and will discover the incredible wide desert landscapes and the Skeleton Coast from above, included one shipwreck!
And everything with the most appropiate music for this travel… do you guess which song is playing? Prepare your emotions.
Wow amazing video! Everything I expected and more! Thanks for linking up with #TheWeeklyPostcard!

Those weren’t mountains! They were dunes! Dunes higher than 300m! Namibia is unforgettable, a complete virgin land. Thanks for your comment ๐

After watching the video, I keep asking myself how you guys found your way around since you were driving in places where no roads existed. This was truly an adventure! Those orange sand dunes look spectacular. it is like another world. I can’t wait to read (and see) more about your trip. #TheWeeklyPostcard

Thanks Ruth! Yes, sometimes it is difficult to find the correct “road” to your next destination but in general road signs are clear and it is easy. There are few roads in the country, so there are not many opportunities to get lost in a different road. However, it happened to us once hehe

Amazing! Namibia is gorgeous. We’ve only spent a short two days in the Caprivi Strip on a road trip that was mainly in Botswana. But we would love to go back and spend two weeks in Namibia. Beautiful vide! Thanks for linking up this week, #wkendtravelinspiration!

Thanks for your comment! We bought the Lion King Broadway sountrack just for this travel. We did more than 5400 km, so we needed appropiate songs for the roadrip ๐

Looks like Namibia and Botswana might be the next African countries to explore, in a few years ๐ Right now in South Africa.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. Love Africa! Did Tanzania a few years ago, and on this trip I was able to swing by Zambia and Zimbabwe too. Off to Lesotho and Swaziland in the coming week. What are your favourite African/Subsaharan countries?

Wow! You have a great experience in Africa. We have just started with this continent, so only Namibia for now. We are thinking about Tanzania and Madagascar ๐

A friend did Madagascar, and it looks incredible! I was thinking about doing that this trip too, but didn’t have time ๐ Tanzania is great! Safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater I am starting to realise is something out of the ordinary. However it was my first safari, so it might be hard to live up to that ๐ Did a short safari in the Kalahari Desert this time.

We were not allowed to drive in that place ๐ so we booked a 4×4 that drove through the Skeleton Coast and Namib Dunes! In the video we mix some videos taken from our car and taken from the 4×4 booked rides.
