Sandwich Harbour: 4×4, dunes and sea

During our trip to Namibia we visited amazing places, but one of the most impressive sites was Sandwich Harbour. We took a great number of photos there and it was absolutely justified! Sandwich Harbour is advertised by the companies that organize trips thereto as the place where the dunes meet the sea (and this is literally true). But where is Sandwich Harbour and how can you visit this amazing environment during your Namibian roadtrip? Just keep reading!

Jetty 1905: Our best dinner in Namibia

We think that gastronomy is an important part of every culture and country and, thus, we try to eat traditional food in each of our trips. When we started planning our trip to Namibia, we though that several types of meat would be offered at a good price due to the wildlife of the country. And, indeed, that was the case. In fact, almost all camping sites have a braai (barbecue in Afrikaans) available for guests to prepare their own meal. But in Namibia, particularly on the coastal side, you will also find good fish and seafood. Do you want to know which was the best meal we had during our trip? Just keep reading!

Wild Namibia (Video)

Wild. This may be the best word to describe Namibia. Or maybe, Desolation? Or Lonelyness? Wide? Virgin? Well, we don’t know. But it will be difficult to experience again what we have experienced in Namibia. We don’t have enough words, so let this video talk for us. Some people have already seen it before we post it in the blog and all of them had tears in their eyes at the end. What is your feeling after watching and listening to this video? Put the volume ON and share your thoughts. 🙂

Today is 30/12/2017. We wish you a fantastic New Year 2018 full of travels that change your soul!

And if you like this video don’t miss this one. 🙂

Two Traveling Texans

The Ghost Town of Kolmanskop

As we explained some weeks ago when we were back from Namibia, one of the reasons for us to visit the south of the country was the Ghost Town of Kolmanskop. This town was once a rich diamond mining village built in the German architectural style. But, in the middle of the last century, the village was abandoned and today only the sand of the Namib desert lives there.

Welcome to Kolmanskop!

Sossusvlei, dreamy landscapes

Many people travel to Namibia just to see Sossusvlei. This completely unique place in the world makes the travel to Namibia worth it. We promise you that you will have completely new feelings and the images that cross your eyes and your camera won’t be seen in any other part of the world. Being in Sossusvlei is like crashing into a Dalí painting, it is like living a dream.

While climbing the Big Daddy during the sunrise, the Dalinian landscapes are seen towards the Dead Vlei.

The oldest desert in the world. The tallest dunes in the world. The unique orange color of the sand, the white clay pans spotted with dead acacias… Don’t miss our story, photos and a surprise!
