5 things we’ve learned travelling as a couple

Today I was remembering our first flight together. The destination? Dublin. We had been together just for a few weeks. In any case, Easter was coming and we decided to spend it in Dublin. Why? I suppose that Ryanair low clost flights took part in our decision. More than four years later, we have created lots of memories together at the same time that we have added plenty of destinations in our bucket list. But, what is more important, travelling has become a source of learning for our relationship.

While travelling, we have grown as a couple. People can travel on their own, with family or friends. But for us, travelling together is a special and intimate way to do so. We think that every couple should travel together early in their relationship to better know each other and to improve some abilities that are key for the relationship to be successful.

Torcello, a big surprise near Venice

When planning our winter trip to Venice, we imagined ourselves in Piazza San Marco or walking through its channels. We also planned to visit the home of glass, Murano, and the Instagram-friendly town of Burano. But it was not until we read in depth our travel guide that we discovered an island that we couldn’t miss: Torcello. Its history and its loneliness create a magic environment that we will try to share with you in this post.

Venice on a budget

We do not consider ourselves as purely low cost travelers, but we always try to make the most of our trips at the best price. Less money spent in a trip means more money for the next one, and we are two travel lovers, so this is enough reason to save as much as possible. We have already written a bit about our winter trip to Venice on January this year. Venice is not a cheap destination, quite the opposite, but there are still some ways to save a little money during your trip. Accommodation, transport, museums, so many churches, food… Here you have some tips to visit Venice on a budget.

Colors of Venice

Two weeks ago we went to Venice. As every year we organize a winter trip and considering how crowded is Venice the rest of the year, we thought it would be a fantastic option. We visited the city without doing any queue in any tourist hotspot and we could see and take photos of San Marco square with no tourists in it! No cruises, cold and humit air and a special atmosphere full of mistery and romance among the winter mist of the lagoon is what we found. Put an extra ingredient: Christmas Time.
